Skulls and mushrooms: a suitably spooky October for Forest School sessions this week Year 3 used their scientific learning about teeth to identify the skull as a carnivore. Wonderful to see skills learnt used in real life situations.

Wow, our Year 1 artists are so talented! Here are just some of their self-portraits on display at The Horsebridge Arts Centre in Whitstable. Their exhibition is on now and all through half term. Well done Year 1!

Celebrating our brilliant mathematicians in the Infants... Year R are using items from around their classroom to match sort and compare, colour, shapes and numbers. Year 2 are using tens frames and counters to add two numbers together. Using the tens frame helps them to see the number bond to 10 therefore making the addition easier to solve. Well done to our amazing children!

Back in the summer term, we were very lucky to have been offered the opportunity to take part in a workshop, here at Swalecliffe, with poet Charlotte Cornell as part of the Canterbury Festival's work with local schools. Some of our then Year 4 children attended and Isabelle submitted her poem for entry into the Canterbury Festival's Poetry Competition. Her poem received a special mention. Here's our lovely Isabelle at the showcase to celebrate her achievement.
