Swalecliffe Community Primary School

To celebrate SATs being over, we took our brilliant Year 6 children for a treat trip to the beach. Watercolour painting, games and pebble decorating. We didn't get any photos of the ice-cream eating as we were enjoying it too much! Memories made for our soon-to-be leavers. A typical British-weather beach day but we loved it!

What a wonderful celebration this will be! Hopefully, the vase trophy will be coming into school for the children to see soon!

Year 6 families - it's SATs Week, Just a reminder that doors with open for the year group from 8.20-8.30 to enjoy some breakfast. Huge thanks to our PFA.

What an amazing result! Congratulations Whitstable Town FC!

We are thrilled to congratulate Whitstable Town Football Club on reaching the Final of the FA Vase and are excited for them to be playing at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 11th May! This is a truly momentous and historic occasion – a once-in-a-lifetime moment for the club and our town. Many of our children and families are attending the match on Sunday and we hope they have an amazing time. As part of the celebration, some of the children have created a display in the entrance to the school. We would also like to give permission for any children that would like to, to wear their Whitstable town shirts, hats or scarves tomorrow. Good luck to Mr Clayton (Chairman of Whitstable Town) and the whole team and club!

Wow, Swalecliffe families, we were blown away by your contributions to OPAL!!! Thank you so much. We have sorted all donations ready for the next phase of our OPAL journey. We'll keep you up to date in our OPAL newsletter, via Facebook and through our website of developments. We will create new Bingo cards for the next collection morning as we had so much today.

What a fabulous day!!!! Year 5 have loved their hands-on science learning in London today! Nearly home now.

Year 5 have arrived at the Science Museum.

A reminder that our first OPAL Collection Morning is this coming Tuesday (29th April). Mrs Watson and Miss Garton will be on the junior playground to collect anything that our families can donate at morning drop-off. Thank you for your support.

Our 'Golden Welly Award' winners. This award has been introduced alongside our new OPAL play programme. The award is an opportunity to celebrate the children and their amazing play. Our children can achieve this award by demonstrating our school values, being respectful, showing curiosity, responsibility and positivity during play. We look forward to announcing two new recipients next week! Well done Issac and Tommy! We are so proud of you!

The 'Book Elf' visited over the holidays again and delivered books for classrooms and libraries. They couldn't have made their deliveries to welcome our children back tomorrow without the £550 raised at the Book Fair this year. Thank you Swalecliffe families!! Here are just some of the books that will be enjoyed.

Wow, what a great turnout for the 'Easter Hat Parade'! Our children and families are amazing!! Thank you to our brilliant PFA for organising today's event.

A reminder from our PFA: Today is the day to get your bake on! Any cakes or treats, small or large, will be much appreciated! Obviously, we would love home baked items for those that can - but otherwise we will also be very grateful for shop bought treats. We'll be collecting outside the infant library/ hall tomorrow morning before school. The Easter Event is tomorrow straight after school. Please pick up your children as usual and the event will be on the playground. Hat parade for those who want to (£1 voluntary donation) with chocolate rewards. There will be Easter treats, soft drinks and pre-loved uniform for sale ... possible visit from long eared friend too . If possible please bring the hats after school.

OPAL is starting to grow at Swalecliffe and is a project that our PFA are supporting. Our children are loving having music on the playground, creative activities, more social spaces and Freedom Friday has been a huge success! Look out for our first OPAL newsletter that will be coming home before the Easter holidays. There will be information about our OPAL donations class bingo!
