History Intent
Children at Swalecliffe should develop an appreciation and understanding of why studying History helps us to comprehend our place in the world and how best we can contribute to it. They should be equipped with the knowledge that studying the past enables a true perception of the present and recognise the range of people, places and cultures that have contributed to forming modern Britain. The study of History at Swalecliffe requires the children to think critically and thoughtfully about challenging concepts and big ideas, preparing them for a future as well-rounded, articulate, and open-minded adults.
